Interesting First Amendment case coming up

McCutcheon v.FEC. Federal campaign laws limit not only how much an individual can contribute to a given candidate or committee, but also how much he can contribute in total to all candidates and committees over a given two year period. The issue: is this unconstitutional?

Unfortunately, ending such limits may unleash the dogs of gun control mayhem. Here in CO, the recalls of state Sens. Morse and Giron was outspent by gun controllers and others seeking to keep the infamous pair in office. Mayor Bloomberg wrote a personal check for $350,000 to Morse, and the gun control lobby outspent the NRA about 3 to one. There are few billionares opposing gun control, and several who want it badly enought to spend millions to get it.

So everyone has to buy their own newspaper, TV or radio station. If you are RICH ENOUGH there are no limits.
