Russia: fewer guns, more homicides
Interesting. Russia has about one-tenth of the US's gun density, a ban on all semi-autos, background checks and permits for other guns, yet has near twice our murder rate.

Peter, that's nonsense, a straw man used by the anti-gun crowd. Of course murders by other means count, because if more people were armed, there would be fewer of these; hence, more guns, less murder. Note that the violent crime rate is inversely correlated with gun ownership rates, regardless of the instrument of the violent crime.
Anon, you're right, but I'll give Peter the benefit of the doubt, as I suspect he was writing ironically.
But not "Gun violence"
Murders by other means don't count.
