An IQ test for politicians
Glenn Reynolds proposes one, citing as a prime example Rep. Diana DeGette's explanation of how a ban on full-capacity magazines will work:
"I will tell you these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those now they’re going to shoot them, so if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available.”

The problem is also evident in that the author doesn’t understand the terminology either. You don’t put bullets in a magazine, you put bullets in a brass case to make a cartridge, and you put those cartridges in a magazine (which you then put into the gun).
As with most politicians, she only cares that words are coming out, not that the words make any sense. Last thing a politician wants is dead air.
If we attempted to find ANY IQ in DC, I doubt any would be found even if we summed up the intellect of everyone there.
Sometimes I'm not sure whether we are blessed or cursed by the idiocy of our political enemies. If she was smarter, would she see the error of her ways and realize that these laws won't protect us? Or would she just be more effective at eroding liberty?
Good idea maybe we can open up some seats(lots maybe) and get some people you are actually interested in doing the job for more than the money and power
