And the latest from the UK...

Posted by David Hardy · 30 November 2006 02:53 PM

18 hours of rioting left Great Britain's largest detention center in ruins... so authorities released 150 persons awaiting deportation since there was nowhere to put them. 'The place is completely uninhabitable, they have trashed everything, so there's no way any of them can stay there.'

I tried that with my bedroom as a young tike. Mom forced me to stay/sleep there until I cleaned it up!

It's not even fun any more taking note of the total absurdities that pass for government these days in the UK. They've gone so far into the world of insanity that it's become a bit like poking fun at the village idiot. Between rewarding misbehavior and punishing personal responsibility, it's obvious that the inmates have been running the asylum for some time now. Monty Python's Monster Raving Loony Party seems to be in charge and is likely to be reelected overwhelmingly.

They are sending a hell of a message to criminals; just stage a riot and get out of jail free. I think the collapse of the UK is imminent in the next few years, unless they make some drastic changes.

I used to live in South Dakota, just a couple of miles from the State Pen. Bill Janklow was Governor and during a time of rampant prison riots was asked what the response would be to a riot (with the usual fire setting) in our prison.

His response? "Well, the walls are granite and pretty thick so I figure we'll just close the doors and let it burn out."

You know, the closest we ever came to riot there that I know of was at one of the 'half-way houses' on the grounds. One inmate was going to do something against the rules and it so upset the other inhabitants that they beat the crud out of him.

I believe one or two prisoners may have tried doing damage to their cells but after they were given the same treatment as RKM it failed to catch on.
