A good week or so for the Second Amendment
New York's expanded "sensitive places" carrying prohibition: SAF and FPC blocked that with a preliminary injunction. The state has moved for a stay pending appeal, and they have opposed that.
SAF and FPC also challenged California's legislation making anyone challenging a gun law liable for attorney's fees if the government wins (while not making the government subject to fees if it loses), and the California AG declined to defend the law.
Gun Owners of America has brought so many challenges, and is winning in so many, that I'll just give a link here to their list. I should give specific mention to their challenge to Oregon's recent and repressive laws, on which they won a temporary restraining order, the state took an emergency appeal to the state Supreme Court, and the state failed.
All these are preliminary rulings, but the direction of the tide is clear.

Of course, we wouldn't be facing these state level challenges if the SC in 1833 hadn't screwed the People by ignoring the supremacy clause in relation to the words of each of the Bill of Rights. One who is familiar with English notes that only the 1st amendment is restricted to the federal government while the other 9 are written to apply to ALL levels of government. However, in 1833, the SC decided that NONE of the BoR applied to the States thus giving We the People the shaft. Today we are tossed scraps through case after case after case and We lap them up like we are being granted protections. The truth lies in the the fact that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land as are amendments of the Constitution. The Bill of Rights always restricted all levels of government but the SC ruined that in Barron (1833) and the SC has not simply overturned Barron so that all the BoR binds the States. We have their BS Doctrine of Incorporation wherein the SC so kindly allows us some of our inalienable Rights but that allowance makes them privileges, just like the privilege to carry concealed.
For 534, the NRA was never an effective gun rights organization. They always compromised. Rights CAN NOT compromised or they become privilege and privilege can always be restricted or removed.
I never thought I'd see the day when the GOA was a more effective gun rights organization than the NRA.
