Kyle Rittenhouse prosecution continues to collapse

Posted by David Hardy · 8 November 2021 01:51 PM

Story here. In its latest disaster, the attacker who was shot in the arm concedes that Rittenhouse did not shoot until after the attacker had pointed his own gun at him.

I'm hard put to figure how the prosecution's case could implode any further or faster. Rittenhouse was under attack by multiple persons, one of whom had been uttering lethal threats, he had fled from them, they cornered him, one fired a shot in the air and then aimed at him. It isn't a close question, and we are still in the prosecution's own case!

I've been practicing 46 years, and have never seen a case, civil or criminal, collapse like this. Any good attorney would have seen it coming, and dismissed or settled.

Rittenhouse is irrelevsnt. The message is that, "the process is the punishment". If you dare to defend yourself or your business, the DA will drive you to financial ruin. The DA is just letting the peasants know what the game is. "Guilt" is irrelevant.

That, and the certainty that if the prosecutor doesn’t look like he’s going balls to the wall, no matter what kind of turd the case is legally, the mob will run a(nother) riot just as wide and as long as they can get away with it.

Some are speculating that a not guilty verdict for Rittenhouse will make it easier for the city/county to defend the civil suits brought against them.

Doubt judge will dismiss for failed prima facia. Defense will likely move to strike any self defense claim by the Day-5 witness shot in the arm carrying the handgun as a matter of Law, and ask judge to instruct the jury accordingly. His own testimony sinks his claim.

BTW, Take a good look at that guy shot in the arm. IMHO he's the face of an Antifa killer soldier. He's what we're up against.

I can only hope this works out well for Mr. Rittenhouse. The bottom line is "We'll see", as long as he is still subject whims of the criminal and civil courts. I certainly wouldn't want to have experienced the last year and a half of his life.

Putting all societal outcomes aside, my personal advice is the same as I've given to a few thousand students in self defense/firearm classes- "Don't be there".

Any gun owner should realize the simple truth that pulling a trigger is a gigantic roll of the dice. The prosecutorial and litigation "deck" is stacked against you. You risk your wealth, mental health, and freedom, not to mention the effects it can have on your family.

Would I hesitate to shoot if necessary? No, but "necessary" is a whole different thing when it is forced upon you. Part of my own training is go out of my way to avoid people, places, and situations where I might need to use my tools. Rittenhouse could have avoided the whole mess by staying home.

"Avoid[ing] the whole mess by staying home" is a recipe for allowing BLM & Antifa to rule the streets of our cities.
It's said that evil can only triumph if good men do nothing.
At some point "good men" must act.

Well, today (Tuesday) when he admitted that the prosecution tried to get him to change his testimony might have been it...
