Texas about to go constitutional carry!

Posted by David Hardy · 24 May 2021 05:56 PM

Story here. The Texas law has been around, if I recall, since 1871.

From the article, "Gun control groups also oppose the measure, noting the state's recent history of mass shootings, including those at an El Paso Walmart, a church in Sutherland Springs, and a high school outside Houston."

The arguments put forth by the stated gun control groups aren't very persuasive. Allowing law abiding residents of Texas 21 years of age or older to carry handguns without a permit is completely unrelated to two shootings involving long guns and a third shooting committed by a teenager. How anyone could conflate lawful activity with unlawful and heinous acts really puzzles me.

Agree....but we spend entirely too much time trying to rationalize the behavior of irrational people.
