A very fine week for the Second Amendment!

Posted by David Hardy · 28 April 2021 11:49 AM

The Supreme Court grants cert., and it looks like it's a go, for the first time in a decade or so. New York may wish it had let the earlier appeal go ahead instead of mooting it.

The Florida legislature passes a pre-emption enforcement bill providing for attorney's fees, with a multiplier, and that repeal of an ordinance will still leave the plaintiff able to claim fees,

An Illinois judge declares that state's FOID card requirement unconstitutional as applied to firearms in the home.

And a California federal judge rules California's weird requirements for rostering guns for sale is unconstitutional.

A fine week indeed!

Pretty amazing. Now we get to wait and see how long it lasts.

I am also concerned about what the SCOTUS will decide. Who can tell anymore? To paraphrase Gideon J.Tucker, "No man's life, liberty, or property is safe while SCOTUS is in session".

You missed 9th Circuit opinion ordering district court to dismiss injunction on publishing electronic gun files.

Well, considering that no new guns can be added to the California roster due to the microstamping requirement, I don't see how the Judges ruling changes anything.
No new handguns except revolvers have been sold in California since 2007.
