I had no idea the AR-15 and .223 were this powerful

Posted by David Hardy · 16 June 2016 06:01 PM

I mean, yesterday's piece by Gersh Kuntzman told me that his bruised his shoulder, rang his ears through hearing protection, and just shooting it gave him PTSD. Now this piece tells the reader that the AR-15 "can shoot about 40 rounds per second. Hunters can take out grizzly bears with two rounds." 40 rounds per second -- that's take a very quick trigger finger, and being a bit faster on the magazine change than I am. At a cyclic rate of 2,400 rounds per minute, it'd make the MG-42 look slow. And hunting grizzlies with a .223 is apt to be overly exciting.

What all this illustrates is that we should arm our troops with the mindblowingly powerful AR-15, and let civilians have the popgun M-4s and M-16s and SAWs.

I’m Christian and really trying not to get too angry about this but it happens every week.

STOP FUCKING TALKING TO THE MEDIA.

Soviet Pravda waltzes right into friendly territory and guess what, you gave away our position, and now we are taking fire, getting wounded and have to play defense. don’t engage them at all, ever.
Know it all gun guy is not meant to be disrespectful. I have an embarrassingly low level weapons knowledge and need the professional know it all gun guys to educate me. But please let the professional political activists to do their job. They will ask for help if needed. And the grassroots (that’s me) must to do our job, of getting one person at a time, interested in self defense and getting in the politicians faces. NEVER engage the enemy directly! They are illegitimate! Stay on offense, always! This is not a game. If they get the guns they will kill you and your children as they plunge the rest into a dystopian nightmare.

My father in law was at the morning coffee klatch when someone robbed the diner. Later, a local newsman knocked on his door and asked for his account. He told them, "I don't talk to parasites" and closed the door. Enough said.

hahaha...

40 rounds a second! 2400 rounds a minute!

Here is the monster weapon that the poor little snowflake Kuntsman couldn't deal with:

Here is the now dethroned champ. A puny 1500 rds per minute:

ROFLMAO

Oh @Jay Dee, good for your dad. My daughter is a LEO sgt, and that is exactly what she calls them.

Oh come everyone, give poor ol' Kuntzman a break. I'm sure he was referring to the 50 BMG version of the AR-15.
I doubt very much that a journalist of his integrity would make up something as outlandish as a .223 cal rifle that bruises the shoulder, causes deafness and induces PTSD.
I mean, no one could make that up, right?

Gersh Kuntzman has to be a shoe-in for Pussy of the Year.

The funniest part of that linked piece is that, when she cites the "take a bear down with two shots" she's linking to Field & Stream (I assume to try and effect some measure of authority on the matter), but it's to a subscriber question & answer thread that starts with one guy asking, "How many shots does it take" and bunches of other anonymous guys telling stories and making jokes. Not one of them even mentions the use of an Evil Black Rifle. Hilarious!

I used to urge people anytime they were speaking to the media to have their own recorder going...

These days, have your own video recorders - and it's getting to be you need two of them.

THE MEDIA IS NOT YOUR FRIEND. They are not honest brokers, they are con artists and charlatans.

His last name pretty much sums it up.
