The Oklahoma Senate voted unanimously to override the governor's veto of a bill requiring CLEOs to sign off on NFA firearms transfer applications. The override had already passed in the House.

it is somewhat hard to understand this article? Why would we want the requirement?
@Marcus: "Why would we want this requirement?" For the same reason we want "shall issue" CCW rather than "may issue". If a law enforcement officer has say in whether or not a firearm license can be granted, if the license approval is based on anything other than objective criteria, that power *will* be abused. They will deny certification because they don't like guns and don't think the little people should have them, or because you aren't a bigwig or celebrity, or because you didn't contribute enough to their reelection campaign.
True but it would be Nice if the CLEO sign off wasn't required at all. On another note my liberal Progressive state of Washington just legalized Short-Barreled Rifles. Why they didn't include Short-Barreled Shotguns in that Bill is beyond me.

Yep this goes into effect on November 1st, will be nice when all the counties are treated equally as right now some CLEO's refuse to sign. With the ATF wanting to change the game on trusts which were often used to bypass the CLEO requirement they are just getting beat at their own game.
