Difference between Massachusetts and Florida

Posted by David Hardy · 18 August 2013 04:40 PM

Massachusetts:

"In court, prosecutors described a brutal and determined attack, saying Jared Remy assaulted Martel in the kitchen, living room, on a stairway and then pinned her to the ground in the patio where he stabbed her several times. At least one neighbor who tried to help Martel was driven back when Remy slashed at him, a prosecutor told a judge in court. Remy was arrested at the scene, his clothes soaked in the victim's blood.

That neighbor, identified as Ben Ray, spoke to MyFoxBoston.com, saying "It's not an easy thing to watch ... It's not an easy thing to try to stop and not be able to.""

Florida:

"At around 6 a.m., a Vickie Rock, 50, of Riverview, was visiting a home at the Grand Oaks Apartments at 10103 Sherwood Lane in Riverview, when she heard glass breaking and screaming coming from next door, deputies said.

Rock, who was armed with a .45 caliber handgun, went outside to investigate and found a Daniel S. Robertson beating his girlfriend, Cristy Vasilakos, 40, with a metal object, deputies said.

Rock yelled at Robertson to stop, but when he turned and began attacking Rock, she fired the gun at least once, deputies said.

Deputies later arrived to discover Robertson dead in the parking lot."

Florida's "no retreat" law in action, while Massachusetts was spared another case of gun violence.

Actually the difference is between Ray and Rock. While they are undoubtedly more welcome in Florida than in Massachusetts, there are a good number of people in Massachusetts who (1) know they would be legally justified in using lethal force in the situation Ray faced, (2) are well prepared to do so, and (3) care a lot more about the victim than they do about (1).

This is further proof that the Zimmerman case was a blatant case of political expedience to take it where it went. He is still is being processed to further be harassed with civil suits and make political anti gun points. Under the law Zimmerman case is even more demonstrative of being within the law because he was being attacked personally and was on his back being beaten before he drew and used his weapon. His case should never have proceeded to the courts.

As I have said before, when the crazies come to rob, maim, or kill you, come stand behind me. When the smoke clears, we will be the only two standing. And this is only because we choose to live in a state other than Illinois, Massadamnchusetts, New York, or California. In any of those locales, we would probably get one or two by sheer will, but we would remain victims.

My opinion is that every law bidden U.S. citizen should be proficient with a hand gun and carry it with 100% of the time... You never know !!!!

I live in Florida, have a CWP and carry every day, every hour, every where. I have considerable training with many weapons both handgun, rifle, and shotgun. I really pray that I never have to use one for any reason, but if the reason presents itself, I will do whatever is necessary to protect myself, my family, and even you if required. I stand by my GOD given rights as an American citizen.
