I've already heard some of the NRA cursing: "if only that $%#!! NRA would " - I've found the best response to this is "I'm the NRA, what, exactly do you think is wrong?" - personalizing the issue makes them realize it isn't some far-off, disembodied, "evil" organization, but a real person, looking THEM in the eye. Of course, you may need to know some of the basic facts about those "dreams" they have, but most gun folks seem to have those down pretty well..:-)
