The dam is breaking

LA Times confirms guns used in the gunfight where Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed came from sales being 'monitored' by ATF.

The spin is now -- this happened because we didn't have enough resources to do more. In other words, "give us more money and we won't ____ up again."

Translation: Give us more money and we'll find bigger, better, more exciting (i.e., more American lives put at risk) ways to ______ up.

That makes no sense. If they cannot track the firearms that they are selling to these criminals, why on earth would you sell them guns in the first place? We have some real smart cookies working for the ATF

@gunsxchange: If they cannot track firearms they themselves sold to criminals, why should we assume they are able to accurately and meaningfully track any firearms?
