In Alabama, a 69 year old grandmother shoots a burglar, and gets a nice writeup, complete with a picture of her holding the gun. What's astonishing is, the story is carried by the New York Daily News.

Best line is this quote from the woman: "I hope this will make people have second thoughts before they break into a home in our neighborhood."
One reason I like living in the South, people here tend to take care of things all on their own without having to call 911.
