Open carry may be fine for others, but it is not for me. I prefer to blend in with the crowd and not have a potential assailant know whether I am armed or not.

So, the subsection of the citizenry that always carries openly (police) want to keep it all to themselves? As always, government wants to keep a monopoly of power. Exactly why the 2nd
Amendment is necessary, because human nature is what it is.

I don't follow this stuff about "open carry stops." If open carry is legal, then there is no legal justification for a stop, period. Can I be stopped for driving the speed limit down the road? No. This is no different.

Now, if they are talking about a justified stop of someone who happens to be open carrying, I suppose that is different. I still see no reason to take the firearm, nor a justification to check its serial number.

Personally, I would not open carry. Those who do have a right to do so and should not be hassled.
