Posted by David Hardy · 4 December 2009 01:05 PM

Story here. Owner of a security firm is suing the District over an arrest warrant issued for him, charging him with possession of unregistered firearms.

The issue of standing is a delicate one, but I don't know how Judge Bates can find that the guy's fear of future arrest and prosecution was "mere conjecture," when the District has a history of targeting him in just such a way.

If the guy hadn't retained competent counsel, I have no doubt that the warrant would have eventually been served.

Because the judge is a despicable individual?

D.C. is not called the the District of Corruption for nothing. The nerve of this guy (Robert Ord), trying to muscle in on the off-duty cops who provide security! I hope the District loses big time. Maybe if the city could be bankrupted by these pro-gun suits, the city council will change the laws, to something more like Virginia's gun laws (hey, Virginia has a one-gun-a-month law after all!), or in my dream, like Vermont's gun laws. But probably not, they would rather pass on the chance to achieve statehood than givve up their stupid anti-gun (anti-freedom) laws!

They would rather pass a 40 pound watermelon than give up their stupidity. Of course from what I have seen, that wouldn't be a real trick for them, as they are more than qualified to pass a 40 pound watermelon.
