Sensibly Progressive, who is one of his constituents, has a favorable take on the nominee for Interior Secretary.

Well, his personal views and track record on the 2A are, of course, interesting. But, Secretary of the Interior Salazar will be working for President Obama. But my guess is that if President Obama directs him to change or waive the new regulations regarding CCW in National Parks, Secretary Salazar will do so.

If Secretary Salazar wants to keep his job, that is.

I certainly agree. And as another point, it seems quite acceptable in liberal circles to claim to be a fan of the 2nd amendment so long as you protect limited hunter's rifles. So you can be anti-ccw and pro-AWB and still make that "I'm a 2nd amendment supporter" claim.

My hope, however, is that Mr. Salazr will ignore this rule and it will be too far down on the radar for President Obama to direct him to take action. Once it's been in place for a few years with no notabe problems (though you know any incident will get massive media play time, even though it probably would have happened without the new rule) it will be harder to fight against. People don't like losing a privilige/right they've gotten used to.

"Sensibly progressive" - I believe that same phrase was used to describe indivdiually Stalin, Mao, and Hitler at one point in time.

Depending on who was stalking, so were the terms "handsome," "debonair," "brilliant," etc. And weren't all three of those Time "Men of the year?"

(first post had a bit of a Freudian slip) ;-)
