American Hunters & Shooters Ass'n director takes out new antigun ad

Posted by David Hardy · 19 August 2008 08:37 AM

John Rosenthal, the millionaire founding director of AHSA (he resigned last year after his antigun connections became a little too publicized) has taken out a billboard that is a fake gun store front proclaiming "We Sell Guns! No ID required. No background checks. Criminals and terrorists welcome!"

"Gun shows are the equivalent of Al Qaeda terrorists walking directly onto the airplane while you and I wait in the TSA line," John Rosenthal, founder and chairman of Stop Handgun Violence, said in a recent interview."

So much AHSA as supposedly representing shooters...

Hat tip to reader Jack Anderson...

Very Cuite of him....seeing how when he attempted to prove what the billboard claims at a New Hampshire gun show he found that #1 Nobody woul illgally sell a gun to him, and #2 when he lied that he DID illigally buy a gun at the show the ATF decended on him in short notice.

So this isn't a case of willful ignorance, as he has documented first-hand experience on how the REAL WORLD works, this is nothing short of sinister!

Just one more addition to the hundred-mile-long list of lies and hypocrisies of these zealots.

First-I note the ad agency that does this free does ads, not for free, for Hummer Cadillac and Rockport shoes (see their goofy site www.modernista.com ) Who buys those brands?
Second, I saw him at a VT Gun show with a reporter in tow. He didn't buy anything but "saw people selling guns in the parking lot"
Funny, I was there and I didn't see that. I saw guys showing other guys guns they just bought, but no commerce.

Massachusetts is really trying to set the bar for nanny state intervention on your 2nd Amd, ya know they have some stiff competition what with NJ,CA,DC,Chicago, and Phily.

Trust...wouldn't the world be Heaven on Earth if people who knowingly, willfully and maliciously lied, in public, with the intent of misleading and emotionally arousing public anger toward innocent citizens? We would have more honest elected/appointed public officials, we could almost trust the media, entertainment and advertising personalities. Public schools, universities, business tycoons, even environmental extremists would achieve some veracity. Al Gore could actually contribute to a decrease in global CO2 levels as he'd have to shut up entirely...My idea of Heaven

Yup, that would be great. We wouldn't need a Bill of Rights in the Federal or state constitutions either because men would have to be angels for that to occur.

Of course, that's not the world we live in, and men are not any more like angels today than when American bills of rights were invented during the Revolution. We need the Bill of Rights today more than ever in our history, and we need everyone to understand it the way the Founders did in order to protect the rights they intended to be protected.

Sounds like that billboard itself is a violation of the Gun Control Act of 1968. John Rosenthal is offering to the public to deal in firearms without a Federal Firearms License, without presentation of ID, without filling out of the federal transfer forms, and without the NICS instant check. This should be enough to have him arrested for multiple federal felonies. Many have been arrested for much less.
