Wow, a blog troll.
Please provide details of when, where and how "the NRA has lied to" you or "I'll wait and study" you "through a reliable source".
The teacher's activity guide can be found at http://www.nj-ara.org/Zargon.pdf which is on the NJ Animal Rights Alliance's own web site (http://www.nj-ara.org/), which would be a "reliable source" (since it is the group the NRA-ILA said was doing this) and thus be verification that the NJ ARA was indeed promoting this as an "educational activity".
Te links from their home page are "Resources", then "Humane Education" then "Hunting Issues" under Grade Six.
That took about 2.3 minutes using Google.
"[T]he NRA has" not "lied to" you about his and by simply looking on the Internet with a common search engine you didn't have to "wait" to begin your "study" "through a reliable source" that being the NJ ARA itself.
First, some years back the NRA was ranked tied for first place with the American Library Association as the most reliable lobbying group in Washington.
Second, perhaps we can invade their planet and... Oh well.
Straightarrow has already been kicked off Snowflakes in Hell. (For some threats or something.)
The NRA has never lied to me. Over the last 30 Year, they took a stand on some issues that I wish they had not, but I’m just one member. Other than the machine gun issue that I’m VERY disappointed about and the fact that I got satellite seating for the Freedom Forum at the last convention, which I guess I can live with, and maybe a confusing stand on DC v Heller, I would not paint them with a broad brush and accuse them of lying. ESPECIALLY in a case like this that is so easy to google. If you want to badmouth the NRA at least find a real and specific issue.

Actually the NRA has lied to you.
The NRA does not care about gun rights. Before you say I'm wrong, then why did Ronald Reagan sign a machine gun ban gleefully (read his journal, on that day he was happy to sign that law and mentioned it at the end of that day's passage)?
Why did Republicans work with Democrats to "soften" the AWB in 94?
Why has the NRA done nothing to get rid of the barrel importation ban that Bush did nothing about?
In fact, why hasn't a single federal gun control law EVER been repealed from this "juggernaut" of lobbying? It's because they WANT gun control.
I'll give my money to the hippies, because I want the Fudd's in the NRA to suffer with us machine gun guys.
OK Paul, Those are real and specific issues. You are absolutely correct. In fact, I'm in denial and wish I could accept the fact that I have thrown good money after bad. I wish there was a place that I could send money and know that it would do some good. For now I'm just a bitter gun owner, seriously.
Chuck
Yes, anon, I threatened to talk to him,as I thought it possible we would both be in the same area during a particular holiday. I asked for a meeting to discuss some things and to show him that I didn't have two heads and blood dripping from all my teeth.
His paranoia and cowardice are not of my doing.
Perhaps you should have a clue about what you are talking about before you talk? Hey, just a thought!
I can still access his site if I wish, can't comment, but since he wet his pants over nothing and me not being cruel, I don't simply so he won't decide I am stalking him. On occassion I have hit his site accidentally and I immediately leave.
I don't tolerate well being lied to nor about. My comment about the NRA stands. Your comment about Snowflakes is correct as to my being banned, but incorrect as to what initiated it. But then so was Sebastian's reason for doing so.
You may choose to believe which of us you wish.
Yes Major Mike, they have lied to me and to you. How much gun control legislation was written and lobbied for by the NRA? Don't know? Or are you in denial? They did these things while claiming to support 2A. That is a lie when they then manufacture infringements and help them pass Congress.
You go do some research. I didn't take you to raise and you wouldn't believe me anyway. So go look on your own, or is that too dangerous to your present position?
Straightarrow;
I called you on this specific post.
Did the NRA-ILA lie to you about NJ ARA and the "The Zargon Connection"?
No. They didn't.
Your general dissatisfaction with the NRA aside, please note that this time they didn't. Specificity counts. And you are trolling (looking to stir up merde).
I'm a life member of the Second Amendment Foundation, the Gun Owners of America and the National Rifle Association.
SAF takes action. NRA lobbies. And GAO? Well, Larry Pratt escorted David Olaffson to prison, which was a man's act (and NRA was absent when David put himself there). GOA's support there failed.
But the NRA is the 800 lb gorilla of Article II or the Bill of Rights organizations.
Could they do better? Yes. And they only way they will is when we are they.
Years ago, my signature was "Computer Science - The art of finding a workable solution. Political Science - the art of finding a workable compromise."
Think about that for a minute or so.
I have worked for 25 years to get the Heller decision. For the last ten years I haven't been a member of the NRA.
I have written letters to the editor, explaining why a certain gun law won't work. I have written letters to the editor explaining what the founders of this country believed.
All you need to to is check the archives of the Chicago Tribune. You'll see me there, in the "readers write" section or whatever they call it today.
Remember one thing.
Until Heller, the Supreme Court of the United States had never ruled on whether or not the 2nd Amend. was an individual right.
They had never issued a ruling that self-defense was an acceptable reason to own a firearm.
Now, they have.
At worst, the Heller ruling has no effect outside of DC. At best, it only affects federally controlled areas.
It's kind of funny, cities and states are now reviewing their gun laws to make sure that they are in line with the U.S. Constitution.
Imagine what it must be like at ATFE. Okay, don't imagine, they'll ignore the laws like they have always done.
The NRA didn't lie, they played politics, and they lost.
The Zargon Connection seems to be an endorsement for the 2nd Amendment. If they want to hunt us for food it just might be fun to hunt back. Zargons may taste "just like chicken".
Thanks to Walt Disney the bleeding heart animal rights groups want to personalize animals. Animals do not - I repeat - Do Not have personalities. There's no such thing as a big "Bad" wolf or a "Smart" little pig. Contrary to a recent Yahoo news story dogs do not "accidently" bite toad frogs or anything else.
It only takes once for someone to lie to me for me to label them a liar for life. I still have a letter from the NRA from August of 1986 in which they lie to me regarding the Hughes Amendment. So, yes, the NRA does lie. Each time since when I have asked a NRA representative about the Hughes Amendment I am left with silence, why? Because the NRA knew they stabbed many of us in the back in 1986 and now does not want to admit it.

Yes, Major Mike, specificity counts. I specifically stated the NRA lied to me and betrayed me. They did so more than once. The most accomplished liar will sometimes tell the truth, even if only by accident. I should celebrate them for that?
I don't think so. People like me will do more good for the NRA's integrity than those who do not protest and continue to support them even when they betray us.
One more question, how does one have faith in a known liar?
I don't intend to spend my time watching my back from the knife of a self-described friend I can't trust.
You are correct, though in that I intended to stir the pot. I think their calumny needs to be exposed. It needs to have such a deleterious effect on them that they change their ways and their leadership, until they actually are what they say they are. If that never happens, then they are still more dangerous to us than are our sworn enemies.
Bear in mind that the NRA has written and/or successfully lobbied for more infringements on the second amendment than all the anti-gun groups have managed.
Straightarrow, I am sorry but you are one of the absolutist gun rights people that no EFFECTIVE group could EVER hope to please.
You are right in what you believe but that matters little if you are NEVER able to convert that belief into EFFECTIVE action.
You are like the people in Texas who DEMANDED Vermont stype concealed carry. NO restrictions ALL or NOTHING. Well if they had been in charge we would have got NOTHING. We got Conceled Carry . We have since expanded it and will continue to expand it.
The NRA is not perfect, never has been, never will be. The Lobby part Political Organization. A absolutist organization that you would like would never protect or help anything.
From what you said you are from tha Chiago area. You can afford to be an absolutist there. Until Heller there was ZERO chance that ANYTHING but revolution could effect Chiago's gun laws for the good. When it doesn't matter absolute is great. When it can matter small steps over time will get us where we want to go.
Nowhere near Chicago. I don't castigate the NRA for not being perfect. I castigate them for not being honest about their agenda.
Sorry, while the link may have some truth in it, the NRA has lied to me and betrayed me often and consistently enough, that I'll wait and study this through a reliable source.
