A column in the Univ. of Michigan student paper.

Hat tip to Joe Olson...

Let's hope this sentiment doesn't spread. The last thing we need is armed leftist moonbats. It's bad enough they key cars that have Bush bumper stickers on them.

You mean I can't be liberal and be a gun owner?

Then I may have to rethink my whole personal philosophy...

Just like they the fringe leftists take their 1st Amendment rights to annoying extremes like heckling college speakers, burning American flags, disrupting major conventions/conferences, etc, I tremble at the thought of them deciding to be armed.

Of course they have the right to own guns. I just hope the types with Bush Derangement syndrome never figure that out.

If they did, I'm not so sure that the old maxim "An armed society is a polite society" would remain true.

Chris at November, in all fairness and objectivity, suffice it to say that you're too narrowly defining "liberals." It's just not that clear-cut. My apologies if you had not intended to communicate that.

In as much as the DC v Heller court case encourages dialogue about the issue of gun control in the USA (which is a good thing), I've a strong hunch that the issue will be more divisive for the Dem party as a whole than for the Rep party. There are many gun owners out there who, if they stop to think about it, are not sympathetic to most gun control. Many of these people vote democrat for other reasons...the gun issue just isn't on their radar (yet). And certainly not all of those who own guns and vote democrat fit the definition of "moonbat."

I tried to comment there, but kept getting errors.

This is what I was trying to say:

The Florida Supreme Court wanted to violate State election laws. The federal court slapped them down.

A better analogy would be the attempt on the part of the Democratic Party controlled vote counters to sneak into a back room to do their counting, prevented by the Republican Party operatives very loud and pointed protest.

Here is an actual event, 2ndA protecting free elections:
