Minor policing problems in S. Africa

Posted by David Hardy · 30 August 2006 10:36 AM

Police here see themselves as underfunded.... but in South Africa, with the second highest murder rate in the world, recruits are being told, when responding to a crime report, “If you don’t have a car, ride a bicycle or a donkey".

Hat tip to Dan Gifford.

Not to hijact the thread, but who has the highest murder rate in the world? the UK?

Colombia has the highest murder rate in the world.

But you must be aware that homicides, suicides, lawful (S/D) killings, accidental deaths etc etc are all lumped-in to the 'Murder' stats in South Africa.

Like using young gansters deaths as "innocent children", a tactic that government and our home-grown anti-gun crowd employ erroneously to its fullest.
