AP has the story. 9400 homicides last year, in a population of about 25 million, for a rate of about 37 per 100,000, or about 500% of the US rate, I remember correctly.

Combine Chavez's exhortations of class envy with the already existing risk for anyone with money who ventures outside in that third world hell hole of a country and you this is what you would predict. Big city liberal politicians should never make it to high offices because thie example shows what they have in store for us.
