From the London Telegraph comes "kill this gun culture".

Mixed in with the meaningless reference to England's "gun culture" and other silliness, there is this rare moment of lucidity: "The police have finite resources. It might be as well if officers spent less time checking up on licensed gun owners and channelled resources instead into catching unlicensed ones."

”Many of the illegal weapons in this country come from eastern Europe. Tough airport security means they enter the country through seaports or the Channel Tunnel, smuggled in via the boots of cars, the backs of vans and hidden in lorries.”

Compare this statement with the Anti-liberty crowd here in the U.S. “For example, last month New York City police said they determined 70 percent of the guns used to commit crimes in the city in the first half of 2005 came from Florida, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Pennsylvania.” I guess in the second half of the year they must have come from Eastern Europe where even Great Britain can’t keep them out. It’s always somebody else’s fault that they have so many criminals living amongst them. I’m still waiting for former D.C. Mayor Marion Barry to have his robbers caught. He was so upset that he was robbed because he regarded himself as a friend to the underworld. Some days that criminal code of conduct just can’t be trusted. Meanwhile…O.J Simpson is still looking for the real killer of Nicole Simpson. How’s that working out O.J.?
