If you can get a copy of it, the National Journal (www.nationaljournal.com) Nov. 19, 2005 edition on pages 3648-49 has an article in their lobbying section entitled "NRA's cry: 'Remember New Orleans.'

The article talks about the infamous NOLA gun confiscations, and what the NRA is doing to publicize this for effect and cash. It's the first article I have seen in a mainstream DC political publication about the confiscations.

Great quote from the article: "Gun control advocates say [the confiscations] is all much ado about nothing. Guns made the situation worse in New Orleans, they argue, and law enforcement officers were right to confiscate weapons in an effort to restore law and order and to protect themselves and other emergency responders." Talk about begging the question!
