Unexpected visitor

Blogging is a little slow today. I'm busy feeding a Great Horned Owl chick (if you can call a fellow this size a "chick") that blew out of my palm tree the night before last. He's now sitting up and the wildlife rescue people are on the way. To get an idea of his size, compare my hand -- and I'm 6'4" and take 37" sleeves, so that is not a tiny hand.
owlchick.jpg [Update: They got him and he's doing well. In respose to comments, no, by "feeding him" I don't mean I was masticating the mice for him! I only had to give them a couple of chomps before he got the idea.]

Are you masticating and regurgitating those field mice and crickets all by yourself? Admirable.

Are you sure you don't mean "...that I blew out of my palm tree with a cool gun..."

That would fit a lot nicer with the tone of your blog.

Sam, your comment makes no sense.

The owl was/is no threat to Mr. Hardy, nor do I think he's concerned about the poor mice/voles/gophers/rats and other local pests; the fact that owls are not subject to hunting, along with other raptors hardly has time to surface.

Wait...um...perhaps you were speaking jocularly? Needs practice.
