« A rather extraordinary letter, MO Attorney General to the FBI | Main | IRS agents in gun training »

Latest on Alec Baldwin shooting

Posted by David Hardy · 17 August 2022 08:14 PM

The FBI reports there was no malfunction of the gun; it could not have gone off unless Baldwin cocked it and pulled the trigger. Why the PD went to the FBI for this, instead of just asking a gunsmith to take it apart, is unclear, as is why the FBI would consider a local homicide within their jurisdiction.

So now we wait to see what the prosecutors will do, and whether a celebrity can literally get away with murder, or at least manslaughter.

My thought is that his attorney will shop this to a few judges to see who will just say "o he didn't mean to kill the dead person with a gun he's fine". Now me ordinary citizen? Right wing all the way to the wall? Trump supporter? I'd be in their County Jail now waiting for Court to send me to prison what I "meant to do" would have nothing to do with the crime. Special Leftist folks with lots of money get different rules than I do.

Baldwin was one of the Producers and thus had some responsibility for how the set was run. He was not new to firearms and the care needed for theater stunts. As I recall, he was asked to strike a pose for the camera, which was behind a shield. He shot people who were along side the camera position. Negligence at best.

He is, however, "special", so nothing will be done.

I'm wondering why BATFE wasn't asked to examine the gun versus FBI. ATF are supposed to be the Federal government's firearms experts, no?

FBI probably went all patriot act on "F Troop" and shoved them aside, like they did with the guns from the Las Vegas massacre a few years back.

Jock:

"like they did with the guns from the Las Vegas massacre"

so they could suppress evidence for the Anointed?

Yeah, that figures.
