I can not believe how stupid he acted. Like the rules did not apply to him but no awareness that things were escalating

I'm curious how much training federal agents (or state/local police) get on how to interact with other law enforcement personnel in these situations where one party doesn't wear uniforms and doesnt have badges visibly presented. The circumstances are so varying it's hard to image one standard to cover them all. As 9/11 and other events since have shown, serious communications and operations issues (differing equipment, operating frequencies, command structures, etc) abound when trying to respond to serious incidents.

Far be it from me to defend the ATF, but I am appalled that one is expected to prostrate himself and 'eat dirt' for the pleasure of the police. Perhaps it is that I am old and fat.
If I am polite and standing with my hands in the air, that is enough. Shoot me and defend your actions in court.

More than one undercover/non-uniformed cop has been shot by other cops when things go sideways. That ATF agent should have complied with the Police while explaining that he's a Federal Agent.

As I understand it, he went to that home and was not recognized at a legitimate LEO, so the residents called the cops. The cops arrived, and had the impression that there was a police impersonator to be investigated. All that ATF jerk had to do was be polite and comply with the cops' commands. He's lucky he didn't get seriously injured or even shot. He was very unprofessional.
