He taught my CCW class, back when it was first allowed in MO. Sadly, he had not been well for several years.

Sad news, but hanks for the info.
Thanks also for the link to the book, it is one of those I read but lost, and never replaced. The STLCCW,COM price of $44 is a bargain, considering the paperback on Amazon is $95 to $100 and the hardcover $185 to $200.

I remember when the book first came out Barnes and Noble refused to stock it due to the subject matter.
Amazon had just begun and was books-only at the time.
It was my first order through Amazon.
On-line ordering was somewhat primitive back then, but I did it anyway. I hit "send" at around noon and the book arrived on my front porch 24 hours later.
I lived near Seattle at the time, so that may have had something to do with it.
Cover price was $28.95.
One of my co-workers had just announced that he was quitting his well paying job at Boeing and going to work for brand new Amazon.
We all thought he was nuts.
Turns out he wasn't.
