Biden on gun restrictions

Posted by David Hardy · 12 April 2022 05:17 PM

Here's the video. Skip the first 41 minutes of blank screen and intro. He proclaims a "ghost gun" can be completed on a kitchen table in under 30 minutes, that 20,000 were seized by police last year, etc. Then he calls for bans on gun purchase by anyone on a "terrorist watch list," cracking down on rogue gun dealers (using old figures indicating that 90% of traces -- which he describes as guns found at crime scenes -- trace to 5% of dealers, wants the usual shopping list of background checks for private sales, "assault weapon" and "large magazine" bans, repeal of the Lawful Commerce in Firearms Act (saying that no other industry has legal immunity... has he heard of vaccine makers?).

And, "this should just be a start."

I forgot -- "I support the Second Amendment."

There was at least a little humor. He keeps referring to the ATF as the AFT.

Yeah, he supports 2A, ol' shoot through the door or fire both barrels up in the air Joe.

I still have not heard any supposed argument that states how making new classes of criminals will stop the current crop of criminals.

Stop calling homemade firearms "ghost guns" - you're adopting the derogatory language of the anti-self-defense.
Call them something else - homemade personal firearms (HPF) or personal made firearms (PMF), etc. Stop using the enemies derogatory language.

It all comes down to the fact that the Government wants to know who has guns.
Serializing home-made guns is merely a way of putting them in the database.
Once they know who has the guns, they can more easily confiscate them when the need arises.
This happened in California years ago when Brady got the assault weapon registration amnesty overturned.
Anyone who registered their AR or AK during the amnesty received a letter from the State telling them that they must surrender the gun or else.

This is the opposite as in New York State, they passed a law several years ago banning "assault" rifles but since they never had been registered and the state had no clue who had them only a few of the estimated one million firearms were turned in.

The less they know the better for us
