Latest Alec Baldwin excuse

Posted by David Hardy · 3 December 2021 10:09 AM

It's even more BS. He didn't pull the trigger. It was a Colt single action Army, I think, which means he cocked it and pointed it at someone, at a minimum. If he let the hammer loose before it was fully cocked, the safety notch or the half-cock notch should have prevented firing. Those have been known to fail, but that's just another reason not to get stupid with a firearm.

So now the firearm discharged? I thought it had "misfired"?

...And I thought the Dindoo defense was limited to the young and plainly stupid. Alex isn't young.

Even if there might have been a mechanical failure, "Baldy" still had the pistol pointed at a person who had annoyed him. Some prank!

Supposedly they were setting up an "at the camera" shot but the bullet mised the camera, missed the camera shield, missed the camera operator but hit the cinematographer that had annoyed him. Curious that!

Ignoring, for a moment, the trigger thing, he aimed the revolver and thus he "owns" the result. Even in the "fake" Hollywood world, there are dangers and this was one that he created.

Not a Colt but of the Colt pattern by Pietta. Any number of unanswered questions. Current suggestions are that the handgun was effectively fanned. For all I know the pistol had previously been abused by fanning or maybe deliberately setup for fanning or as a slip gun for Western effect as a movie gun.

Incredibly stupid for him to try and explain his victimhood...

Not only for criminal charges, but the civil ones that are being filed.

Several criminal lawyers have said this is a perfect example of why you should STFU. Don't talk to cops and don't talk to media. If anything needs to be said, that's what you pay the lawyer to do.

I also saw - somewhere - a collection of Baldwin's shooting his mouth off about the Cheney shooting. Amazing how much his opinion has changed!!

Damn shame they make those guns that just "go off" for no reason.

Kind of like Baldwin does on an anti-gun rant.

...Mister Baldwin earned his acting reputation playing smart, articulate and wise characters in films that entertained and inspired. Beneath that talent was a shallow and arrogant, smug and stupid man. Now that his looks have disappeared and he speaks for himself, his character flaws are evident. He has none of the attributes he portrayed on screen.
...He's just a run of the mill loudmouth Prog : thoughtless, evasive and obnoxious.

And he claimed in a press release that he will not be charged with a crime....

The DA said not so fast, sparky.

Whatever, the revolver was pointed at another human. $h*t Happens. The person holding the firearm is the one responsible for interrupting a cascade of errors, falures, and screw-ups. The Baldwin incident didn't involve a weird bounce off a camera support or an abandoned wrench.

Always keep the firearm pointed in a "safe" direction because you "own" whatever happens.
