Yet another win for permitless carry!

The Texas Senate has passed it. Now it goes back to the House, which earlier passed a similar measure, and then to the governor, who has promised to sign it. As I recall, the ban on carry has been on the books since 1875 or so.

What?
Republicans acting stupidly and against their supposed principles? Oh say it ain't so!
Again.
It's a little more complicated than that. The Senate, with a Republican majority that has some RINOish members, added some amendments that the House has already indicated it has heartburn with. So rather than go to the House for a straight vote, it's likely to go to a conference committee composed of members of both chambers to work out a compromise -- essentially a third bill that will have to be voted on again by both chambers.
Republicans have this reverse Midas touch whereby whenever they get power, they find ways to tie themselves in knots with it instead of advancing down the field.
The current Legislative Session ends on 31 May, and there are deadlines to be met before that. They really only have a few days to sort out this, and a bunch of other bills.
