House passes background checks for private gun sales. It passed with eight GOP votes, and one Demo vote against. The House also passed a bill allowing for unlimited delays on background checks, and the anti gunners promise this is just the beginning.

Looking for the names of those who crossed the aisle...

Quit talking about SALES. This bill references change of POSSESSION, which criminalizes virtually every interaction between people involving a firearm.

I do not have the answers. I don't have the resources or the knowledge to effect overall change. I believe I have an idea that at the very least is a start at a real angle to attack in a way that can make a difference. I will try to be as brief as possible. We as a people have been losing rights one at a time over decades.
The answer has to be something that everyone can get behind and I don't believe it will be by attacking the legislation or further stupidity of what is coming.
We MUST go after those individuals that are attempting this crap, in the same way that they come after us. One at a time. These bills will eventually get folks killed. Doesn't matter which side wins, it gets people, enforcers or those refusing to comply killed.
There are very few things that you can attempt to go after a sitting rep or senator for but one of these is murder or conspiracy to commit murder, in all 50 states. I have no confidence in the corrupt federal legal system as the Supreme Court abdicated their responsibility long ago with regards to the constitution and BOR. So county by county or as in my own state where it must be done at the state level (counties have no real power) Charges of that murder conspiracy which is a simple fact, to the original Author of the Bills and all co-conspirators (signers)by specific names, through Grand Juries or Citizen Grand Juries at least starts the process.
One trial doesn't mean much if anything, but 50 or 100 individual trials/convictions or even just being able to subpoena just one or two, to stand trial on the local level would at the least blast the discussion into real world personal accountability. My personal Pipe dream is even just one arrest and suddenly these assholes are once again having to answer to at least some part of We the People. Might not work, but might damn well change the direction of the gun community to quit boo-hooing and actually do something.
Forget the legislation and the crap federal courts excuses. We MUST make the attempt, individually and locally, with the only question being; why we are allowing these people to kill Americans.
When the shooting starts it will be to late and maybe this is not the answer but all I see is blogs, and posts like the one above giving up the 2nd amendment one little piece at a time. (oh and as a lawyer making money either way it lands, can you say shyster?)
Even if this is wrong, would it not at least give the chance to tie up the legislation with stays, and injunctions until it was resolved? They use the system, corrupt as it is, why doesn't the gun community. Prove me wrong, give a real solution of your own or shut-up because your whining about what they are doing sure doesn't work,(except to make your hourly fees) and hasn't for decades.
