Remington bankruptcy sale
Right here. Franklin Armory got Bushmaster, Ruger got Marlin, Roundhill Group got the remaining firearms businesses, Sierra got Barnes Bullets.

I've read that Remington moved the Marlin machines to its own plants in NY and KY, but couldn't get them to produce guns reliably. So they had to replace them and get the new machinery properly set up and running smoothly. That took years, and the stuff they produced in the meantime got a poor reputation in some quarters.
Should we assume that Ruger is going to move the machinery again? If so, as a lifelong Marlin owner and fan, I certainly hope they get things running right a lot faster than Remington did. (To be fair, a lot of the Marlin machinery was quite old and did not travel well, so maybe moving new machines to Ruger plants won't bring many setup problems.)
My personal view is that this is a tragedy. Remington was the oldest independent firearm maker in the country. The usual consequence of such sale of an independent company is that the purchasing corporation drops the ball on quality and service to the sporting community, is interested almost entirely in profit, and eventually kills the company. But we will see.
I love marlin having a very old Model 39, (from the 1920s) Given the Ruger level of quality I have high hopes this will work out
Will RoundHill Group Sell the Factories off? Or will they Keep the Shotgun & Rifle Lines Going?
