Bodycam video of a shooting

Posted by David Hardy · 16 July 2020 01:41 PM

Not the best marksmanship, but the best jam-clearing you're likely ever to see. 11 shots before the crazed perp goes down, with the memorable last words of "ow." Sure, no one needs large magazines....

It was a Glock, and the officer limp-wristed it...

She did a great job clearing...

And people wonder why I carry a .45ACP Glock...

Delta Township (Eaton County) Michigan - near Lansing. No info (yet) on how many of those 11 shots connected.
And the perp was a State DOT employee..

Not so much limp-wristed as loose-grip.

Limp-wrist allows the pistol to move to the rear under recoil, which increases the distance that the slide has to travel.

Watch the shot immediately prior to the jam cause the barrel to rotate skyward by 30 degrees or so. The energy that would have cycled the action went into that rotation.

Except for some very small target areas, pistol rounds simply don't have the energy to provide enough tissue disruption to affect body operation in seconds. They let air in and blood out, which takes awhile to stop someone, as shown.

Tactically, she waited way too long to start shooting. She's damned lucky she didn't get stabbed. He almost took her with him.

11 shots at close range to neutralize a suspect? Really? Is that good training?
