Laws are no match for American ingenuity

A stripper clip that enables the user to load ten rounds in a second or so, directly into an AR-15. Since it can be used to feed a fixed magazine, it is just the thing for shooters whom fate has condemned (temporarily, they may hope) to live in California. Give an AR-15 a fixed magazine and it's no longer an "assault rifle" there, from what I recall.

Hat tip to Clayton Cramer...

You may or may not realize that the 1941 Johnson Semiauto used by the marine corps could even be topped off while the bolt was in position and a round in the chamber.

Should said by SOME of the marine corps. Purchased through the Netherlands since the Army wouldn't accept the guns because the Army was involved with the Garand.

I have ordered one to try it out. It should allow me to load or top off a standard magazine while it is in the rifle, just as I can with an M-14. I always thought that inability was one of the failings of the Stoner system. If it works well, I'll get a few.

Once California legislators gets wind of this thy will blanket ban stripper clips. And they will ban that product by name.

Won’t matter. By 2021 or 2026 at best because by then some automatic rifles will be illegal to own with forced door to door confiscation. Every gun owner, all 100+ million of us will be deemed enemies of The Party and we will no longer be considered human being with rights. I fully expect president Swalwell to let the nukes be used on us when his gun confiscation plan goes pear shaped.

Robert Heinlein wrote quoting his father that "the more complicated the law, the more opportunity there was for a scoundrel."

I've said that to complain about loopholes in your shiny new law is to admit you have poor reading comprehension compared to the people who think your law is dangerous to law abiding people.
