ATF contractor busted for stealing guns from the agency

Plea agreement here. It gets interesting around page four. He was a security guard, and at night he would take guns and parts from guns that were supposed to be destroyed, take them home, and sell them. He stole quite a load, including some full-autos, and including 3,000 Glock slides!

Three years of thefts. Bad, or no, control of the procedure to destroy the firearms.
Just a guess, but I suspect that they went with a plea agreement so that ATF would be spared the embarrassment of testifying about how bad their inventory control is.
