Harvard students search roommate's room, find guns, force her to move out

Because her legally-owned guns made them nervous. They said they (illegally) searched her room since she came from the South, was conservative, and so they suspected she must own guns.

It would be interesting to know if the landlord advised the remaining roomies that they would have to make up for Pirnie's rent.

Another example of more open minded college students.

I was a juror on a case several years ago in which a landlord searched a tenant's apartment without permission when he was not at home, and she ended up charged with breaking and entering. (We convicted her.) If the roommates searched her personal areas without her permission, would they not also be liable for unlawful entry? As tenants in common they are only allowed access to their own areas and the common areas.
