NFA form processing times

Posted by David Hardy · 6 August 2018 02:25 PM

ATF reports that paper Form 4s have a processing time of seven months. They may have e-forms available this year, although they note this is complicated by the requirement of fingerprints and a current photograph.

I wish there was an e-form process. I did the paperwork for a can Saturday, I might get the stamp in February.

Wait. ATF is claiming the eform process is being complicated by the requirement for fingerprints and photos???

Was in not ATF that just last year, implemented 41F that requires fingerprints and photos for Trusts.

Circular logic.

But, I guess NFA34 is working just as intended.

I haven't been able to get a clarification about the 41f either. Is it a one-time submission of photos and prints for everyone on the trust, or is it everyone, every time for every purchase?

Mike,

Everything for everyone, every time.

Rumor is you don't have to submit your trust documents if you have done so in the last two years, but 41F has not been in place long enough for me to be sure.
