Karma is a b_____
Chuck Schemer says he'll filibuster the nomination of Neil Gorsuch. But what is going thru his head is Harry Reid and a bunch of cusswords. Reid led the successful Demo charge for the "nuclear option," to forbid filibusters on o nominations other than Supreme Court justices. Now Republicans have only to eliminate that exception.

Dogboy you are right but realize that it has come around for the democrats who rammed it down the throats of the repubs.
It will end up being a vicious circle but they are stupid because if they actually do this ( the dems) they are setting up a big failure on the next justice that comes up.
Spite. Pure spite on Dems part over concern for the country's good. As Gorsuch declared, Dems want SCOTUS to be a democratic party organ.
Future SCOTUS Hearings: For Dems: Clear path for their nominees. For all others: Filibusters.
No deals for Chucky.
It is not a question of if the nuclear option should be exercised, but rather a question of when and by whom it will be exercised. Harry Reid's actions were a clear indication that the Democrats lack any scruples regarding limitations on their power. Leaving SCOTUS nominations subject to the 60 vote rule was only a fig leaf to conceal the extent of their despotism. The Republicans, aka the Stupid Party, need to recognize this: the moment that the Dems control the Senate, they will rewrite the rules to eliminate any ability by the minority party to stall legislation. The Golden Rule of Politics is: Do unto others before they can do unto you. If Chuckie Schumer wants to play silly games, he can win silly prizes: invoke the Nuclear Option over any attempt to filibuster Gorsuch, and then grab the popcorn when Ginsburg drops and the Dems' heads explode.
...Harry Reid's arcane maneuver was always possible. What kept it from happening was the comity of the Senate. We are seeing that end completely and reflect our societies descent to open warfare. Now I know what my great uncle and others saw in 1860 Virginia that lead him to join the Pulaski Guards Militia in 1861. Acknowledging that the talking and compromising was over. Time to fight.
...It's not yet time to fight, but I don't think this business can be reversed now. Something really bad is blowing in. These Progressives beating people up, disrupting speakers and burning police cars are getting more aggressive and the will of Mayors, Governors and , up until now, Presidents, isn't to stop them but to step back and cave in.
...Will no one rid us of these meddlesome beasts ?
Ryan is too much of a RINO to even THREATEN the use of the nuclear option, and he doesn't have the propaganda machine of the media to back him up. He also has no conjoles to do what is good for the country, only hisownself.....
...Of course, Ryan is in the House and it's the Senate that has the filibuster rule . Just sayin.
I think Chuckie will play the injured party but will not not go full route because I think he knows that it will blow up later when the next justice comes up. But maybe he is that stupid
Sorry, but this is going to come back some day and bite everyone in the you-know-what. No matter what side of the aisle they are on.
Momentous decisions should only be taken with a supermajority. Allowing 51 votes to carry the day is great-when your party holds that slim majority. Not so great when your party is in the minority. As it will be, some day in the future.
We had better hope we get one or two additional Pro 2A SCOTUS justices seated before the current administration runs out of steam.
