"60 Minutes" attacks Remington, Remington hits back
Right here. It involves some hard hits. But then 60 Minutes has always been about creating horror movies with some slight linkage to real events.

That response would be more satisfying if it was signed: Dewey, Cheatam, & Howe, Law Partners and followed by a court filing for defamation. It is 60 Minutes after all; it should be easy to show a pattern of malicious lying.
Better to just notify every advertiser that their products are no longer needed. Won't happen, but maybe someday.
Remember 60 Minutes and the Audi "unintentional acceleration" story that killed Audi sales in the US for a decade? An Audi lunged forward and struck and killed the driver's small child. CBS intentionally withheld that when the first officer arrived and, in shock, asked what happened, the driver said that her foot slipped off the brake and hit the gas pedal. Audi had provided the police report to CBS, which ignored it. I don't recall that 60 Minutes ever updated their "story," but the jury in the civil suit found for Audi. Unfortunately for Audi, the damage had been done.
The Vietnam era Marine sniper rifles were modifications of the Remington 700.
Never heard of an accidental misfire due to manufacturing defect.
Did the gyrene armorers know about a rifle defect and do something to correct it?
Dan, they probably just kept them clean.
60 Minutes doing an intentional smear job concerning guns???
Say it ain't so!
And, no one but those of us who already knew it was a deliberate smear job will ever read that.
I'm sure a team of lawyers, accompanied by an invoice that resembles the GNP of a small country, thoroughly vetted that to prevent any possibility of it being found slanderous, but it sure would be nice...
