Liquid body armor
Some things are just impossible to believe. But then, who would have believed glass could be turned into flexible threads of great strength?

A commercial product that is getting close. Currently it is impact protection but they are working towards ballistic.

I just want one to wrap around my daughter's iPhone, those things are expensive and she has a talent from dropping it!
A key attribute will be weight. If it doesn't weigh less while providing the same protection as existing technology it will fail commercially.

I am eager to buy this liquid body armor. It is very useful for me. It works body wraps
While the premise is for a non-Newtonian fluid as a means to distribute a projectiles energy, at 0:55 they show a gray substance being poured into a clear plate. This is not a non-Newtonian fluid but a form of Ferrofluid. You can see the magnet under the plate and how the substance 'spikes up' when poured. When the magnet is removed at 1:10, you can see the Ferrofluid go back to its more liquid form. Odd.
