Louisiana--off duty police cannot carry in bars
It's a statutory interpretation by its Attorney General.

So why should police get special treatment.? A lot of people are surprised to learn that Massachusetts has for years allowed anyone with a valid carry license to carry in bars and restaurants. The only stipulation is that one can't be under the influence, which applies regardless of the location. If you and I aren't allowed, which should police? If there's no actual evidence of there being any problem, why should anyone be prohibited?
We, for the most part, have two sets of rules when it comes to the carrying of firearms. One set applies to the elite, police officers, the other is for us common folk. Guess which one is far more restrictive?
Subject them to the same laws the rest of us face. Besides, all it will do is make them break the laws the same way the rest of us do.
Whats the problem? Po lice have been going into bars forever with guns and,as we all know, nothing bad ever happens....they are trained..don't you know to be able to handle themselves drunk or sober.
