Another oops moment for Bloomberg

Posted by David Hardy · 19 June 2013 11:28 AM

His mayors group just held a rally in New Hampshire, and in reading off the names of victims of gun violence, included the name of Boston bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Well, he did die from gun violence (and being run over by his brother), as often happens to people who engage in a shootout with police.

UPDATE: three more people killed in gunfights with police are on the list, one being a mass murderer.

Well, it's true, but on the continuum of deaths, his death is categorized as "Praiseworthy".

...one of Blunderburgs bodyguards shot his girlfriend's ex...in the back and buttocks.
They're the only ones mature enough to carry firearms in NY, though...

Their excuse is that they used a list of people compiled by Slate. Slate's excuse is that they were merely listing people, "Killed by guns" without regard to the reason. Seems they equate self-defense using a gun with, "Gun violence."

It turned up today that the list includes Chris Dorner, an ex-LAPD cop that went on a shooting rampage in Lost Angles a few months ago...as a victim of gun violence. The list excluded the two LEO's Dorner ambushed and killed.

Blaming Slate is too weak of an excuse.

Bloomie is hiring idiots because his mental faculties are waning. For all the problems facing NYC, sodas and composting are what he finds interesting. He's losing his grip.

Wasn't there a paragraph in the appendix of 1984 which said that the appropriate newspeak response to hearing of some criminal activity, "I didn't know he was sick?"
We're supposed to find the deaths of the two murdered by Dorner "sad, but bad things happen", and Dorner's death tragic because he was sick.
