A thought on "immigration reform"
David Codrea notes that if immigration reform passes, those now illegal will no longer be barred from possessing firearms. The present prohibition bars sales to aliens who are illegally within the US. That vanishes as soon as they convert to legal status. And of course the background check system isn't much use with a person who spent most of their life outside the US.

Remember: if amnesty passes, the vast majority of illegals will vote Democrat- that means ca.6-8 million new Democratic voters nationwide, and many Red states becoming irrevocably Blue. That means gun control WILL happen, on a federal and state level. If you want to keep your guns, call your congresscritters.
IIRC, aliens make up the vast majority of the FBI NICS prohibited persons database, and account for a minority of the returned denials.
I don't really see them cleaning out these entries were immigration reform to pass.
