Senate Judiciary Committee hearings

Posted by David Hardy · 28 February 2013 07:28 PM

The video is here. Click on the video playlist in the right margin.

You can fast forward by clicking on the timeline. The three witnesses opposing the legislation begin at 2:16 (yes, two hours sixteen minutes).

Got off the plane three hours ago, very, very tired. I entirely rewrote my presentation during the course of the hearing, and as a result have to consult my notes far more often than I like.

Rumor has it that DiFi was not happy with the outcome of her hearing. Apparently you did well.

I think it would demonstrate the flaw in their (il)logic if someone would point out that a maniac with a handgun loaded with even seven rounds could easily corral an entire school into one room, then spray them all with gasoline and set them on fire. The gun used isn't the mass killer, the killer is the mass killer. Adam Lanza could just as easily mowed down the children with his mom's car while they stood at the bus-stop, and it would take the police a long time to figure out what was happening and stop it. In places where guns are not available they use bombs to kill lots of people. Is that better?

Mr Hardy, that was very well spoken testimony. Thank you for your hard work protecting our rights.

"Red Polymer Tip", so they used a polymer tipped bullet for the second shot, but a round nose for the first shot? That's like comparing an apple to an orange, in a drop test.

I did not listen to all the testimony but it did appear to me that the deck was stacked a bit in having Nutter go after the 3 pro-gun people. The other thing was everything was emotion, do the right thing, ban these because it is right, how many more and so on.
Totally ignoring whether the bill would actually do anything to address the problem.
It will be an uphill battle, one which I thank you for fighting
