Piers Morgan, a gunny?

Posted by David Hardy · 20 January 2013 09:16 AM

An interesting bit of history. The simple fact is that almost all political commentators (whether on the right or on the left) are entertainers first. They also have a target audience -- not the listeners, directly, but network managers who keep their show going. P. Morgan may be pro-gun, but if he sees the network management as interested in "gun owners are Neanderthals," he's going to give them what they want.

Don't you know? Consistency is for the little people. We're far above that kind of thing.

He's an arrogant twit.

"gun owners are Neanderthals" I'll accept that compliment, but let's put the pejorative term in more scientific terms: less tamed; i.e., less domesticated. If pre-domestication humans were like wolves, and gun-owners are a wolf-like huskie, Piers is a foo-foo poodle. [see Peter J. Wilson (1991) "The Domestication of the Human Species." Yale University Press, and Jack Goody (1977) "The Domestication of the Savage Mind." Cambridge University Press.]
