Getting squishy....

Posted by David Hardy · 14 May 2012 07:50 AM

From Rollcall:

"Behind the scenes, Boehner, Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) have expressed reservations about the political impact of holding Holder in contempt.
. . . . .
A GOP aide also warned against a racial backlash if Republicans are seen as unfairly targeting the first black attorney general, who is serving under the first black president. “Especially after Trayvon,” the aide said, referring to slain Florida teenager Trayvon Martin."

If what I read is true, the purpose of fast and furious was to increase the number of guns used in crimes in Mexico to further the agenda of attacking the 2nd amendment. Was Holder willing to let mexicans die to do this? Makes one wonder, who is racist now.

YGBSM. So now the Race Card has to be fought before it's even played? Great. We can't prosecute crime because it's racist.

So, all you have to do to get away with murder (or conspiracy, or facilitating) is be black now?

No matter what they do (or don't do), Republicans are NOT going to be able to win the votes of people who would be angry about Holders prosecution. The man is potentially looking at multiple counts of accessory to murder. Anyone who could look past that because of race is not going to be voting for Mitt in any event.

This makes me sick. Fast and Furious had nothing to do with the color of these men skin. Also the color of their skin does not give them a free pass on the law.

Do ya think that they might be holding back to allow the information and discovery continue to build up to be burst open closer to the election.
Kind'a like a boil that is untreated until it bursts open spewing its corruption all at once.
Hmmmm, did I just liken the head of the US Justice department to a deep and painful infection?? Yep.

Almost all convicted criminals are in jail because it could be proven beyond a reasonable doubt that they did the crime, NOT because of their skin color. That doesn't keep a certain community from screaming "racism" when pointing to the disproportionately black makeup of prison populations.

I have three words, "Grow a pair!"

You know, on that front, maybe the reason Obama was elected was a good chunk of people were convinced that they were racist if they voted against him.

Heaven forbid we suspend accountability on accord of race.

Hmm, President Obama is going to get 85% or more of the African American vote this election cycle - even if he states that he eats dogs and is friends with domestic terrorists. Romney has little to lose by alienating the 10-15% of African Americans who are willing to vote against Pres. Obama. On the other hand, the fastest growing minority in the US are latinos. Latinos may be somewhat upset that the current administration allowed known straw purchasers to run guns to drug cartels.

Of course, Boehner et al. are not concerned only with the Presidential election, but also the Congressional elections, which have different dynamics.

Could also be that a strong majority of Republicans were against a female VP.

"Could also be that a strong majority of Republicans were against a female VP."

Not in my experience. Most Republicans were quite happy with Palin as VP. They weren't all that happy with McCain as the GOP selection for President, much like they're not all that happy with Romney now.

But then, I run with a largely (small-"l") libertarian crowd. I've yet to meet those mythical racist, misogynist Republicans everyone keeps telling me exist. I only meet the racist, misogynist Democrats who want to keep blacks on the Democrat plantation and hate successful women who dare to be conservatives.
