Justice Scalia's new hunting buddy

Posted by David Hardy · 10 April 2012 12:12 PM

It's Justice Kagan:

"She said the two are planning to go hunting in Montana in October. In his chambers, Scalia has a large animal head he calls Leroy, Kagan said. “He insists I’m going to shoot myself an antelope,” Kagan said. “Justice Scalia insists I need my own Leroy.”"

...,Hopefully, it'll make a man of her.

"Hopefully, it'll make a man of her."

Why do you want her to be a man? If she would be better as a man, I guess that means (in your opinion) all women would be better as men. Why do you want all women to be men?

...I gotta give it to you, you picked a very accurate (at least the first part about being kuku) handle.

When did antelope get to be a "large" animal?

Harold | April 12, 2012 6:58 AM | Reply

Fuz: Well, if you draw a line between "small game" and "large or big game", wouldn't e.g. rabbits be in the former and antelope in the latter?

Kagan has managed her career by playing politics better than the other bears and "managing relationships".

I suspect Scalia is smarter than she is, and being "out there" could have a positive impact on Kagan. She might figure out there are things she and the progressive echo chamber don't quite have a grip on.

I have to endorse her for even "going there". An antelope is not large by most measures, but the next issue is dressing the animal and perhaps eating some of it. I can't see the Wise Latina taking such a trip.

Dialog is important.

...I don't know if Scalia is smarter than Ms. Kagan, but Democrats promote folks based on payback to their ethnicity and the constituant group they represent, not intellect or their true value as individuals. My hope is that she is now in a secure enough position to be herself and not a representative of a group. At some point in life we all get a chance to be ourselves. Us. Who we are, and what we want to be. Whatever Ms. Kagan can be, I hope she does become. If that happens, them we have a true Justice, a whole person.
