Where do they find these guys?

Captain's Quarters notes the testimony of Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer:

“Very few hunters in the United States or sports people and law-abiding people really need to have semiautomatic weapons or long guns."

So I guess (1) the Second Amendment is about sports and (2) revolvers should be deregulated? Pity that someone didn't ask this senior official "define 'muzzle, and 'semiautomatic'."

I guess Mr. Breuer is relying on his credentials as a savant rather than any experience to decide what sort of firearms a hunter or law-abiding citizen might require.

Would that justify on loosing up SBR restrictions for home defense?

Could have been worse. Remember that many urban liberals have never seen an actual firearm, let alone touched one.

If you whole knowledge comes from Brady literature, you may well have missed a few of the finer points.

Even urban liberals see guns on the hips of policemen.

Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer knew exactly what he was saying, and was saying it because it parrot's his boss's agenda.

They believe the People can't have semiautomatic firearms, because that is a direct threat to the government's monopoly on violence.

A savant wouldn't have made such a statement... Opinions are like ... What I don't like are people having opinions without logical thought ;) who thinks he hunts or isn't anti-gun?

Breuer is a "credentialled savant", meaning he has education and an important job but has little common sense or critical thinking skills. An idiot or worse.

“Very few hunters in the United States or sports people and law-abiding people really need"... a Ferrari, a million dollar bus, or an Assistant Attorney General, yet they exist whether they are needed or not. Since when is need the determinant of a right?
