I wish they were challenging the ban on Loaded Open Carry (California Penal Code PC 12031).

Unfortunately, their argument is limited to the ineffectiveness of Unloaded Open Carry.

Fortunately, the California Open Carry activists are pooling their pennies and funding a lawsuit to explicitly seek to overturn California's ban on Loaded Open Carry and in a manner which will insure the question is resolved in months, not years.

There is a newly created Facebook page to keep track of the status of the lawsuit.

All three of those amicus briefs have been paid for (one way or another) by the NRA.
